The 3 stages of memory Essay Example for Free
The 3 stages of keeping EssaySensory Memory is the soonest stage of memory. Information from our surroundings is stored for a short period of season for auditory nurture.Short-Term Memory is information that we are aware of or information that we specify close to. Most of the information that is stored in our short-term memory for a longer period of time than the Sensory Memory.Long-Term Memory has information that is mostly outside of our awareness and digest be c altogethered into our working memory to be used when needed. Some information can easily be recalled while different information cannot.Knowing how our memory works can help us learn better by writing vote down our theorys so that we dont forget them. For instance, during my down time at work, I may decide to work on a discussion question and can easily get distracted by questions from my teammates or writing out an email. It would be to my advantage to write down what Im thinking at the moment and refer to it when I need it.From the study that I agree taken in the text on page 212. It stated that I was mainly and sound type of learner. I can see where they can get this as a results for the study and I do agree that I do round of my learning from hearing what is being said about a task that I am doing, But I would charter to say that I do not really agree with the study. I greet that I am a visual learner, I do my best work If I deplete some one to show me what types of things that need to be done for a certain task. If I had to go along with the study because I do think that maybe half of my task skills come from earreach to a task. I think that I would use it at all times. I know when I am working I would use this memory style to work with the patients that I am looking after that day and every day, there are also the nurses and other staff that I am working around.I think that there are people that like towork in certain ways and having the memory this will help to blab with them to know that their likes and dislikes are. This will help me to improve my skill and help make the people around me and the patients happy to want to be working with me. Also exploitation these skills for school will be a big thing for me because there are things that I have to know to complete the task that are cod for my assignments. With the sound memory skills I think that this would be better for me because there are a lot of task that I have went through that have a video of some sort to listen to so that I can gather information. This is helping because I can focus on what some one is saying so that I can get the information that I am going to need for that assignment or for the course. I think that there are a lot of different ways that I use to learn and listening to some one explain things is one of my skills. I think that that I have a good memory and I am a fast learner so I think with all my skills put together I have a easier time at learning the skills that I a m going to need to learn.I have well-read so many things in my life by observing someone else doing it, but the one that stays in my mind is learning how to rally. I cogitate watching my father turn the wheel, keep it steady, and watched his foot hit the gas petal as well as the brake. I use to practice cause by sitting in a chair with a plate and turn it right, left, and steady. Since I watched my father drive for many years I thought it was my time to show them what I have learned without taking any lessons. Everyone was so impressed with what I knew by only watching my father drive and without any help from a seasoned driver. You can learn a lot just from watching another person, and I am proof of that. paying attention really pays off and saves a lot of time. The difference between classical and operant teach is that classical is more the natural behavior of a subject when exposed to a specific arousal whereas operant conditioning tries to create a certain reaction by usin g certain stimulants. The repartee of the subject in classical conditioning is not learned it is just what comes naturally in a situation, however, the stimulus added to the equation then makes the subject have the same effect to only the stimulus. Operant conditioning aims to produce the desired reaction of the subject by using reinforcement or punishment. One slip of operant conditioning is when I first got my Pomeranian and was paper training her. We had to watch her constantly and whenever she went on the pad we laid out for her we would reward her with a, Good girl, and a treat. When she failed to make it on the pad, we would scold her and make her sit there while we cleaned up the mess. After a few weeks, she was able to successfully go on her pad whenever she needed to go even if we were not there to praise her. An example of classical training is similar to my other example. My friend had already expert his dog to go outside to use the bathroom however, she would just sit t here until someone saw her so if everyone was in another room she could have been sitting there for hours. He installed a cow bell at the bottom of the door and when he noticed her sitting at the door, he would overwork the bell himself to ring it and then open the door for her. Eventually she realized that the ringing of the bell meant that the door was going to open.Classical conditioning occurs when a controlled stimulus is offered to elicit a response. In the case of Pavlovs dogs, the bell elicited salvation. This was only after Pavlov fed the dogs after each time he rang the bell. The rules of classical conditioning are that1. A controlled stimulus must be presented before an uncontrolled stimulus. 2. The controlled stimulus and the uncontrolled stimulus have to be timed closely together. 3. The neutral stimulus has to be partnered with the uncontrolled stimulus many times before the conditioning can happen. 4. The controlled stimulus is unique from the other stimulus. When I was younger I would only drink Dr Pepper. When I got pregnant with my first child, Dr Pepper started making me queasy. After several months of realizing I was feeling sick to my stomach every time I drank Dr Pepper, I quit drinking it. To this day I will get sick to my stomach if I drink Dr Pepper.

A private sector company mainly looks for profits for their stakeholders while long lasting sustainability in the commercial market. Their main aim is to take advantage of their opportunities and consider profits as the just about important result. The main funding is done by the stakeholders, to enhance the development and growth of the company. The key culture for Private Sectors Company is to make a off strike out among long term sustainability and short term profits. The CEO of the company is mainly responsible for creating a vision to the organization generally he/she would be a highly experienced person in field and is responsible in the success of the business (Debowski 2006).The purpose of the Frito Lay is to focus on one private mission to become worlds leading products company for the consumer who focus on convenient foods. They try to offer better opportunities for growth and improvement to their employees, business and the in communities where they work. Moreover, whatever they do, they struggle for honesty and integrity. Frito lays main vision is to improve all their features in which they operate- environment, social and economic. They try to implement this vision by programs and concentrate on environmental stewardship, steps that benefit society and building a good relationship among stakeholders. Moreover, they not only focus on financial success of the company only also in reducing environmental footprint by protecting natural resources and using re unusedable energy in order to reduce virulent emissions. The knowledge environment in which the organization exists external contextWhen organizations ar exposed to external environment, it will go through more changes. There are numerous an(prenominal) factors same technological changes and globalization have brought many opportunities and caused threats in the marketplace (Debowski 2006).Globalization has provided an opportunity for businesses like Frito Lay to gain entrance mone y all over the world but also brought international organizations to the home market which poses a threat to separate companies. Globalization allows customers to check prices, serve and look backs of the product from many providers before selecting their suppliers. Even if the supplier is at another end of the world could be located and contacted through tele converses to impact customer requirements (Debowski 2006).Like discussed before, Globalization provides both opportunity and threat. The threat could be an increase number of competitions means customer are exposed to a wide range of products and services. Then we can scratch that customer wont stick to one supplier as there are many, so customer loyalty cannot be trusted. Since costumer is exposed to many varieties of products, it will in turn increase the stress on organizations like Frito Lay to be more creative plus more responsive to the be set by the competitors (Debowski 2006).The other external factor that affect s organization is the pressure from the stakeholder. Since the investment become global, there will be continuous demands from stakeholders to improve market shares, cost reductions and increase in profits. Even technological change is a main factor that effects on business and also helps developing quickly. In case of Frito lay, the Globalization is forcing business to update their technology in order to compete in the market (Wimmer 2004). Technology has become a foundation to many organizations and work tasks, and allows sound communication and management (Debowski 2006).The organisational structure including the internal knowledge cultureAccording to the Oliver Kandadi (2006 p.6) knowledge culture is A room of organizational life that enables and motivates people to create, share and utilize knowledge for the benefit and enduring success of the organization. This culture was seen in Frito Lay organization which was implemented by Mike Marino, vice president of customer develop ment. The company bought a tool called Autonomy from navigator transcriptions, a search engine that allows users to search information and explore new ideas through intranet sites. By the help of navigator system, new innovative ideas and solutions were developed through combined efforts. Once the system was centralized, knowledge sacramental manduction became jacket exercise between staff members with the help of supervisor and leaders. After the implementation, employees are kept up to date about the issues, events and innovations. This internal culture has encouraged a regular communications all over the organization which helped openness, honesty and concerned for others is promoted. Knowledge culture allows employees to work together by manduction and learning from their peers and supervisors (Oliver Kandadi 2006).Organizational structure is an influencing element in creation and development of knowledge culture. It defines the way power and responsibility is performed in an organization and also distributes knowledge in a way that it will be easily adopted by the firm. Organizational structure allows employees to be grouped according to their functions or division or both. In Frito Lay, the company grouped sales team as a pilot team for the portal, which helped the firm to understand the new system (Debowski 2006).Knowledge workersAccording to Debowski (2006, p.31) knowledge workers use their heads more than their hands to produce value. Knowledge workers mainly work with their own knowledge to resolve issues or problematic situations. They try to learn new information to reshape their existing knowledge, by doing so they can apply these skills in a variety of areas to resolve issues, generate ideas, or develop new services and products (Prince, 2010). Their job mainly deals on the mental rather than muscle power and is characterized by non respective tasks. They use different methods to solve issues and they also have chest of drawers to decide w hich technique to use in order to achieve the success (Prince 2010).In the case study, Frito Lays vice president of customer development, Mike Marino and Price had many types of organizational knowledge (Debowski 2006).Knowledge that may possess many features, characteristics and value of different sources or systems that may be found in the Frito Lay organization.Knowledge that can identify people, groups and organization and techniques to link them.Understand how to carry out difficult task which require analytical skills such as researching, testing and innovating. An ability to observe, estimate and access counteract knowledge sources. The sales pilot team was dispersed all over the country to collect information from the customers and analyze it with correct resources and then fed back it to the sales people in the organization. This flow of knowledge from knowledge workers to the organization will empower them with superior customer knowledge and competitive intelligence.Knowle dge leadersKnowledge leaders are the pillars to the organization and restrain of knowledge management in a firm. These people provide the encouragement, set goals and vision to transform the knowledge concept in to a reality. By the circumstances of the organization, the knowledge leaders roles and responsibilities are designed. Knowledge leaders help to build an effective knowledge community. Their roles require them to understand the complex framework of the knowledge operations and ways communication and teamwork is built and strengthened (Debowski 2006). The generic attributes of knowledge leader were they contribute some important attributes which depend on understanding of forge, systems and peopleThe main concepts identified within the case study are disciplines of knowledge leadership, like willingness to share knowledge because it is seen as a power and also collaboration of their work with other organizations. Mike Marino acted as a Change Agent as he identified that kno wledge was dispersed in various systems across their organization which created complexity for employees to obtain data freely and there was inconsistency in data too. They solved this problem by sharing the knowledge all over the organization by developing a centralized system (KM portal) for all of their business processes (Debowski 2006).Another model that is clear in case study is generic attributes of the knowledge leader, for instance selecting an appropriate sales pilot team and displace them with knowledge management portal support across 10 different cites to by measuring up their surgery with the normal teams which displays the qualities of strategic visionary and knowledge executor attribute of the knowledge leader (Debowski 2006).TechnologyTechnology is a main factor that brings out a huge positive difference in an organization and also helps developing it growth rapidly. In case of Frito lay, due to no integration between business process for finding and merging data of join and customer account information. After the implementation of Knowledge management system (KMS) it become a basic foundation to the organizations and work tasks by providing an effective communication and management (Debowski 2006).KMS provides a unified and functional platform in an organization on which many other knowledge activities flow and interconnect. It offers knowledge capture and sharing freely, readily and openly to all the stakeholders across the organization. Moreover, it also offers a channel to an individual user to acquire a document, send, share and create knowledge to meet the priorities of the organization. Basically there are quatern components in KMS Business process management, Content management, Web capability management and Knowledge application management. In case of Frito Lay, they have built knowledge management portal on the corporate intranet. It acts a centre point of access to various sources of information and offers individual access to o. This type of system falls under content and business process management (Debowski 2006).The content management system is an intellectual content in KMS. It allows users to retrieve knowledge on particular theme and topic from the KM portal. It allows a wide range of strategies of indexing, storing and organizing the knowledge that are linked in KMS. Business process management defines the processes that are needed for an organization. Like in Frito Lay, these systems are linked to a knowledge management practices so that employees of the company have the access of ideal and up to date data to build up their knowledge (Debowski 2006).Knowledge resources and knowledge-sharing practicesOne of the core practices in knowledge management is knowledge repositories and knowledge sharing (Debowski 2006). Typically, knowledge repository outlook is like another web-based index. It provides many options to the users to explore with the main menu that offers wide range of access to the recog nized knowledge resources from internal and external to the organization. Repositories act as a connection between the user and the core knowledge, working as a single point of entry to support users finding required information across the organization and also other organizations (Annunziata Levant 2002). Through repositories knowledge is shared among users, sharing knowledge has become commit and ends up becoming a part of the routine daily life (Barnes 2002).The repository system used by the Frito Lay sales force was Autonomy. This system was acquired from a consultancy, Navigator systems from Dallas. This tool enables users to search all the way through various repositories like internet sites, spreadsheets and power point presentation (Huysman Writ 2002). It supports many salespeople to get all significant information from a variety of sources which allow them to achieve all the different data sets through one picture. Furthermore other features that we can see in this tool are it links the organization data with internal sources and outside too, it is a search service that helps people to find data that is required and it also help to record solutions and best practices of other so that it can be shared with others (Barnes 2002).Knowledge needsThe main goal of knowledge needs is to identify accurately about the knowledge the organization, its team and its people need at the moment and the knowledge they might need in the feature to achieve their goals and objective. The future strategy of an organization is enhanced due to knowledge needs analysis. This analysis can also find out the staff skills and capability of improvement needs and opportunities for training and developing, team spirit and relationship with staff, subordinated and peers (Ovio Komi-Sirvi 2002).Knowledge gapsA gap between the ideal world and the existing knowledge world is known as knowledge gap. Gaps may obstruct innovations, opportunities for organization improvement or impede te chnology implementation Often, the first task is to review the about the existing knowledge in the organization and then analyze who has it, where it is and which jobs the knowledge is used in. Moreover, when knowledge gaps are visible then it gives a say-so in decision making. It is important to identify knowledge gaps of two forms of knowledge, explicit and tacit knowledge (Debowski 2006).According to Lin, Yeh Tseng (2005 p.3) knowledge gaps can be viewed in four different thoughts strategic aspect, planning aspect, perception aspect and implementation aspect.Strategic aspect This type of knowledge is necessary for the improvement of the organization competitiveness.Implementation aspect Implementation of knowledge management.Plan aspect The plan of knowledge managementPerception aspect To improve the organizations competitiveness as perceived by the top managers and employees.QuestionsWhat categories of knowledge do you use in your organization? How do you use each of that know ledge? From how many sources can you acquire the knowledge?Apart from yourself, who else use this knowledge? Is a specific knowledge is restricted to specific users?JustificationFor the first question, it was important to know how knowledge was divided into the firm and how many categories are present for the employees and teams in an organization. For the second question, how organization utilized that knowledge, for instance whether there are any restrictions or no restrictions. For the third question, how does the organization acquire knowledge, like internal and externally. For the fourth question, apart for the organization and its people, is that knowledge is utilized by other organization? Or it is used by the suppliers or other external factors. For the final question, are there any security constraints in the company, if there are then why those constraints.Knowledge audit ToolsAccording to Ramalingam (2006 p.13) knowledge audited account offers a framework for gathering data, sy nthesising findings and making suggestions about the best way forward for knowledge and learning initiatives against a background of the broader structural and policy factors poignant an organization. In Frito Lay, the sales team has been given access to portal with different content as well as research abstracts, which was called as a performance scorecard (Chowdhury 2006). It is to evaluate the performance of the account. This tool comes under the balanced scorecard approach for measuring the performance on the four key aspects financial investment, internal process, customer/stakeholders expectation and focus on learning and growth. This tool will help in measuring the performance of the employees and help in providing results on how effective the company is operating. The tools of knowledge audit areKnowledge Gap analysis This tool shows the gaps that hold back technology implementations and hamper opportunities and block innovations.SWOT analysis It is a strategic planning techn ique that is applied to calculate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats included in a project or an organization.Knowledge Taxonomy it regulates a construction of knowledge map by describing an organizational knowledge and relationship.Exit Interviews When an employee is leaving a company forever, then he/she will be taking knowledge along with them. So this tool will help to document that knowledge so that it can be utilised by other employees.Questionnaire A research in conducted with a series of questions for the purpose of gathering data from large number of respondents.RecommendationsKnowledge portal has made a huge difference to Frito Lays sales team. The portal acted as a central point for the whole organization by providing multiple resources as it provides an essential way to capture information. The implementation of portal has brought a lot of profits and made their work easy. However, this is the beginning stage of the progression and still a lot to come.S ince the portal is implemented in only to team it is recommended to add its functional to other employees across the 3 divisions. Moreover, it would be better if this is added to their customers like supermarkets as it would help them to synching their knowledge with the organization for co promoting and co merchandise of products together. In future, the organization might implement other knowledge management systems like Web Content Management and Knowledge Application Management. Web content mainly deals with building an effective website structure through which users may access to the KMS Frito Lay can have advantage with this system as it will provide a direct communication with the client side. It will provide an easy user interface and it would even benefit the consumers too. Knowledge application management system would provide users with applications like word processing and emails. These applications will help the staff creating knowledge.ConclusionIn conclusion, knowledge management is the key to every organization for possible action a door full of opportunities and possibilities. KM portal has become a PepsiCo project as it has helped in improving employee retention rates and the efficiency of the companys operation too. Frito Lays sales team is able to capture the specific information of the corporate and customer sales account information from any location. It has reduced inconsistency and gemination of data which reduced the performing of same tasks over and over.Knowledge management is an attractive concept to many industries. It helps understanding the needs and gaps in knowledge by simple analysis and helps in coping up with the globalization. Moreover, the knowledge leaders and workers will help to put the theories and ideas from papers to real world.

Author Azzopadri has divided discipline of project management in four periods.1 Prior to 1958 this period is known as craft brass to gentleman relation due to evolution of technologies. During this duration evolution of technologies such as automobile and telecommunication helped for minimizing project timings, because automobile contributed in resources allocation and mobility. Telecommunication system increased speed of communication. In attachment to this Henry Gantt invented Gantt chart which helped for effective planning of project.21959 to 1979 this period is known as Application of Management Services because of remarkable development of technologies. The core project manage ment tools like Critical Path Method (CPM) and Program Evaluation Review Technique (PERT) were introduced. However this period was characterized by rapid development of computer technology. In 1970 effective project management tool Material Requirement Planning (MRP) was introduced. 31980 to 1994 this period is characterized by revolutionary development in the education management sector with introduction of Personal Computer (PC) and associated computer communication net oeuvre facilities. This development resulted in managing and controlling complex project schedules. Furtherto a greater extent project management techniques were more entreible due to low cost project management parcel for PC. 41995 to present this period is dominated by development related to internet, which changed business processes dramatically in mid-1990. The internet has provided fast interactive and customized sensitive medium that resulted in making firms more productive, more cost-efficient and more client oriented. Furthermore the development in softwares and internet facilities lead to various approaches of project management. (Azzopadri, 2006)Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) defines the traditional project management as set of tools and techniques that can be used together to an activity that seeks an end product, outcome, or a service. (PMBOK, 2004). As per Frame (2002) the reasons for the fall of traditional Project Management are success and failure is assessed against achieving scheduled, specifications and budget but not assessed against customer satisfaction. Another problem in traditional Project Management is it single minded approach for tools like scheduling, costing and resource allocation. This is fixed set of tools which involves CPM (Critical Path Method), PERT (Program Evaluation Review Technique), Gantt charts, S-shape budget curves. (Frame, 2002)Modern Project management Modern project management is well lowstood discipline that can give predict able and repeatable results. The methods used in modern project management are highly analytical, automated tools and developed project management softwares to hold large projects.(Howes, 2001). In traditional project management, planning and control methods are very specific and controlled, once a phase is over the next stage will start and it will continue in decided eon. However it is difficult to carry out perfect sequence in perfect term because of some factors as the world is not perfect. However in modern project management much more flexibility is built in system. It focuses on features of the project instead of focusing on every specific task. The sequence of the project can be adjusted to meet with environmental, business, material and other changes. This results in beneficial project management.(Rose, 2011)The rise of internet and development of collaborating softwares live introduced new aspect to Project Management. The success of project is recognised on the profit -loss status. Therefore, there is heightened pressure to assure that projects are successful in terms of deliverable results, cost, and rescue date. Global projects with virtual teams have developed a way by which the cost and duration of projects can be cut down while maintaining a sound control on quality and scope of projects. (Rad et al, 2003). The globalization of business has resulted in greater interest in more comprehensive suit of the scoop practices of project management. practical(prenominal) Project Management Virtual Project Management is the system by which virtual teams work together for determinate period of time for specific goal.(Rolfs, 2006). In recent years virtual project teams has become eldest choice to many enterprises because it helps in reducing time and cost, sharing knowledge, making full use of capabilities of the staff, improving working environment, increasing the enthusiasm of the staff, carrying out cross cultural activit ies and enhancing the quality of product. The given figure shows major attributes of virtual project management. Virtual project management mainly involves controlling and leading of virtual teams.Virtual Teams are defined here as group of workers of geographically and organizationally dispersed knowledge works brought together across time and space finished information and communication technologies in order to specific customer needs or to complete unique projects.(Krill et al, 1997). However, Peterson and Storh has defines virtual teams as a group of individuals who work across time space and organizational boundaries with links strengthened by webs of communication technology. They have complementary skills and are committed to a common purpose, have independent performance goals, and share an approach to work for which they hold themselves mutually accountable. Along with definition Peterson and Storh has introduced seven types of different virtual teams. The basic types of v irtual teams are as follows Networked teams group of individuals who act as a team to achieve common goal, membership is fluid and diffuse. Parallel teams work in footling term to develop solutions for improvement in process membership is distinct Project teams conduct projects for clients for a specific period of time, team has decision pickings authority Production teams perform regular work, clearly defined membership Service teams support consumers in typical service role around the time Management teams work collaboratively on a daily basis within functional division Action teams gives quick response and activated in collarThe significant advantage of virtual team is that the resources of virtual project organization can be arrange quickly and cost effectively (Rad et al, 2002). In addition to this Rad has stated that virtual projects allow organization to form joint ventures for short and specific time of period for significant purpose. Juhre (2001) notes, at a time skill ed technical resources are required then virtual project becomes a success factor organization.Comparison of Virtual teams and traditional teams The major difference in virtual teams and traditional teams is the diversity and different locations of team members as well as organizations. Features of virtual teamsMany sectors like construction industries, engineering (manufacturing, chemic and production), software development industries, customer services and call centre industries are using virtual project management for efficient outcome. The International Technology stand (2004) defines engineering as involving the knowledge of the mathematical and natural sciences gained by study, experience, and practices that are applied with judgement and creativity to develop ways to utilize the materials and forces of nature for the fit of human being.(Joseph, 2005)Each step requires the skills and expertise of an engineer in different ways such to operate, teach the operation, or to sell the product.(Simpson, 2004)Offshore outsourcing is the generic wine term when companies are using virtual teams for the completion of project.(Lieberman, 2004)In software development industry virtual project management is widely used. Requirements of clients in software development industry changes time to time. And to find appropriate talent to give satisfied service to customer virtual project management is very inherent in software development industry. Now a days many firms and companies are using Virtual project management for better performance. With the advent of up-to-the-minute internet technologies all the communication between the client, project manager and virtual teams is carried out through VOIP, email, Instant messages, online screen sharing etc. this enables the client to access the data regardless of the position of the virtual teams. The required data/source code is stored in repositories which are managed by the project manager. Hence project manager acts as an interface between the virtual teams and the client.Issues in Virtual Project managementThe issues in Virtual project management are depending on areas of virtual world and factors which can impact on project management. The main areas of virtual world are Physical variable Culture OrganizationDepending on these ternion areas Virtual project management model (VPModel) has been developed.1. Physical variables This is the area of space and time. The issues raised in this area because of distance between project members. Geographical distanceBy using software tools for (EPM) project team member communicate with project manager. But EMP decreases performance in poorly skilled teams which is expensive (Kanawattanachai et al, 2002). And creates try out rises ethical questions (Keyzermann, 2003) Different Time zonesDue to different time zones work can be done on continuous basis (Lau, 2004). In grimace where real meeting are essential, time and cost for travelling are expensive and due to jet lag efficiency of work can be reduced (Kayworth et al, 2002) and such disadvantages can decrease commitment towards project (Godar et al, 2004) ConflictsConflicts cab be raised by cultural difference, diversity and misunderstanding. Cooperation It includes every issue that allows people to work together (Rehinhard et al, 1994) Cooperation includes virtual meetings, sharing of information etc. however cooperation is depend on communication style. 2. CultureIn the virtual project management all project members used to have different background culture and these people brought together to achieve common goal, so many fundamental issues arises in project management. Due to different culture virtual team differs in language, working methodology, which leads to lack of trust and misunderstanding between project members.(Kyzerman, 2003)One more disadvantage in working cross culture is use of technology. When modular and simple technology is used for minimizing the gap, then the pos sibility of error in implementation project increases. (Dafermos, 2001)3. OrganizationOrganisational scattering refers to the degree to which a virtual team consists of individual who work across organizational boundaries(Shin, 2005). In organizational area the main issues are Electronic security, hackers are valid threat for virtual projects. And other major issue in this area is sharing of information in various organizations which are working on same project.4. Other than above mentioned issues other issues are leadership quality and effective communication. This issue can be unyielding by using multicultural exposed personnel as project manager who has optimum qualification.Summary

Examining The Social Structure Theories In The Economy Criminology Essay
Examining The Social Structure Theories In The Economy Criminology EssaySocial coordinate theories assert that the disadvantaged economic class position is a capital cause of crime. The theories state that neighborhoods which are write down class force of strain, frustration and disorganization that cook crime (Shanali-Justicia). Social Disorganization, Strain Theory and Culture divagation are a few of the social structure criminology theories that are used to explain crime. Other social theories that fall into this category are Culture of need and the truly disadvantage theory. The theory of social disorganization is that crime and delinquency is caused when communities fail. There is a breakdown of families, church, schools and regimen in the community. Social disorganization theorizes that these relationships reenforce positive behavior, a sense of community responsibility and concern for the social net hold out within a close area (Hardy, 2010). When these relationships br eakdown or do not exist the communities and its inhabitants lose its sense of structure and this is believed to be the causation of crime and delinquent behavior. The cycle of Social Disorganization is thought to start with poverty, where at that place is lack of opportunities and racial discrimination. The lack of opportunities breaks down the social institutions and organizations and this leads to the erosion of traditional set. This breakdown leads juveniles to seek the acceptance from peers and a sense of belonging from gangs. Once these gangs dust there is a loss of social control or it becomes less effective. When this control is lost neighborhoods become more prone to crime and this detracts from investors which reduces opportunities in the community. in conclusion this becomes the norm and this way of life is passed onto the next generation. The formation of criminal careers if formed and the cycle continues for some while others grow out of their delinquent phase.Popula ce in these disorganized areas can feel neglected, frustrated and ostracized from the economic mainstream, they develop feelings of hopelessness and anger which sociologist state are signs of strain (Siegel Welsch, 2008, p. 89). This strain develops and theorist state it leads stack to commit criminal offenses, because they lack the opportunities for success. The opportunity for a better life seems to be beyond their reach, so people turn to deviant behavior to happen upon their goals because they feel that society has let them down. Cultural Deviance Theory is a combination of both the effects of social disorganization and strain. It is thought that the lower socio-economic populaces create an independent subculture where they have their own rules and values. Juveniles in lower class neighborhoods adapt to their environment, they become cynical and have no respect for authority. Conventional values occupy little sense to a youth whose role models may include gun runner, drug de alers and pimps (Siegel Welsch, 2008, p. 91). Teachers and other authority figures become secondary citizens to these juveniles and they cannot conform to the rules as other members of society do. These juveniles experience a form of culture conflict as a result they never achieve their goals and eventually get caught up in the life of gangs and deviant behavior. The populace of this poverty culture is marked by frustration of their environment. There is a lack of trust of police and government and this mistrust stalls people from this environment from seeking other advantageous opportunities or ones that are available to them. The results of this environment are depression and possibly psychological issues. Inner-cities that suffer from economic changes have an increase of crime they become ingrained in a cycle of poverty, unemployment and crime. These people are considered the truly disadvantage upkeep in communities with poorly organized social networks, alienated communitys an d high crime (Siegel Welsch, 2008, p. 85)Theorists such as Clifford Shaw, Henry McKay, and Robert Merton have similar views on social structure theories. While Elijah Anderson believed that juveniles committed crimes because of their socio-economic living conditions there were rendered incapable of achieving success (Siegel Welsch, 2008, p. 92). A juvenile turned to crime because it was their only way of achieving success. They feel that their only plectron is to join gangs and engage in behavior that is deviant.Clifford Shaw and Henry McKay believe that delinquency is mainly the consequence of a collapse of institutional, community-based controls (Wong, 2009). Shaw and McKay believed that people that lived in situations such as these responded to the disorganization of their environment. They believe that delinquent behavior was a result of social disorganization, because the neighborhoods they lived in were transitional neighborhoods. This was an area where there was a shift in population the middle class neighborhood would transition to a mixture of lower class people. When this transition would occur the family would become rooted in the neighborhood and the values that they developed such as belonging to gangs and criminal behavior would be passed onto the next generation.Similar to Shaw and McKay, Robert Merton believe that society was the cause of deviant behavior, because society spew pressure on people to achieve the American dream. Merton believed that society expected an individual to conform or either work within its structure. When a someone cannot conform they become members of a deviant subculture. Merton argued that upper class children are less likely to commit delinquent acts because they have the means and ability to welcome an education and stable employment. While lower class juveniles do not have the same means they feel the social and psychological strain or anomie. Merton believed this condition caused juveniles to commit criminal acts to achieve their goals and even if they were offered the means to achieve these goals legally, they would reject those acceptable means of deviant ones (Siegel Welsch, 2008, p. 89).The theory that I most unite with my belief that juveniles commit crimes is the based Cultural Deviance theory. I think that juveniles conform to their environment and as a result have a lower set of goals and values than those of society. Juveniles that grow up in lower economic levels become hardened in their environment and develop an outer shell that shows no fear and have accepted because they play hard they will probably die young. These juveniles do not hesitate to use violence to get the sum across nor do they consider the consequences of their actions. The goals that these juveniles set for themselves are reaching the top level in their gangs and increasing their drug sales. These juveniles cannot understand the concept of hard work and setting realistic goals like other members of socie ty and because they fail to achieve success in life they are quick to blame the man for their failures.

Animal Farm, 1984 Essays -- Animal Farm Essays
Animal arise and 1984Napoleon, the leader of all the animals of the Rebellion, can be compared and contrasted with titanic Brother, the leader of all the people of 1984. Both Big Brother and Napoleon show the qualities of a cruel ruler. Similar to Big Brother, Napoleon is a secretive plotter who works behind the scenes rather than openly. However, contrary Napoleon, Big Brother periodically appears on the television screen. Napoleon and Big Brother both work continually to weaken their rivals, whether it is by removing Snowball or eliminate Rutherford. Both place importance on complicated ceremonies and parades to prevent their workers from thinking about their schemes. Napoleons control over animal farm is not as powerful as Big Brothers control over the workers in 1984 (Oceania). In the service of their ruler, Squealer and Winston both revise history. Winstons task at the Ministry of Truth is to alter the past to suit the present. Squealers duty is to amend the Seven Commandmen ts also to suit the present. However, Squealer supports the views and beliefs of Napolean wheras Winston does not support the rules of Big Brother. Parson and meat packer are both characterized by their willingness to work, constantly volunteering for work whenever something needed to be done. Boxer worked constantly to build the windmill and Parson worked endlessly organizing marches and parades. formulation for Hate Week was described a "Processions, meetings, military parades, lectures, film shows,...

Comparing Woolfââ¬â¢s Mrs. Dalloway, Edward Thomasââ¬â¢ And As the Teamââ¬â¢s Head Brass, and the film Hedd Wyn :: Comparison Compare Contrast Essays
Comparing Woolfs Mrs. Dalloway, Edward Thomas And As the Teams Head Brass, and the film Hedd WynThe wars of the Twentieth deoxycytidine monophosphate have had a marked impact on the views and actions of societies all across the world. The impacts of World War I can be viewed vividly through the literary productions of the time period. In this period, each author had his or her own way of illustrating the effects of the war on their public. Three works dealing in concomitant with this representation be As the Teams Head Brass a poem by Edward Thomas, Mrs. Dalloway a novel by Virginia Woolf, and the film Hedd Wyn. These third works illustrate a common ground in general, of their representation of war, but each offers a particular emphasis of the impact of WWI in atomic number 63 more vividly. In the common realm, each work illustrates that every member of purchase order was affected by the war. Each of these works detail a society in which the general tone is a somber one, a tone plagued by worry over the loss of loved ones, and the inability to understand the sum of the destruction of the war. These three works illustrate the representation of war from three types of people. First, there are the people who had no direct contact with the war themselves, though perhaps a loved one or a friend of theirs may have died, they were not directly involved. The attitudes of those characters that were not directly involved in the war are distinctly different from those who have returned from participating in the war. Those not directly involved in WWI paint a much little terrorizing representation of the war than those who fought in it. In the last group are those who died fighting in the war. The impressions that war left on this group of people are illustrated through the letters and poems that they wrote during their time in the war. These last two groups represent war in a similarly dark fashion. In Mrs. Dalloway, we are unfastened to the general co nscious of the London community through a variety of characters most of them are members of the first group, those who were not directly involved in the war. most of these characters are depicted as interested in getting on with their lives.
